What really lies behind a person’s smile? For decades, cheerful and quirky Charlie O’Connor has sold shoes out of the family home, but now that he’s 81, his son has decided that needs to change. As he serves one last customer in his storeroom, Charlie rediscovers treasures from much earlier times. And while many of the stories they elicit help explain his joyful nature, others force him to revisit unthinkable events he’s locked away in his past. A one-man show, based on a true story.
