New Stage Workshop 6: Physical Movement
Join LYTE instructor, actress and coach Kathy Quayle, and local theatre artist and choreographer Mel Kern (LCP credits: Mame) in an exploration of Physical Movement for Theatre. They’ll take you on a journey where you’ll discover what each individual body is capable of. Learn about body and muscle control, how movement can help character development, and how to move to create impact on stage. No dance training or experience is required for participation in this workshop; this workshop will focus on controlled movement rather than learning planned choreography.
Your body is your instrument; learn how to use it to tell a story.
The New Stage Program and Workshop Series is made possible by a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
An agency of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is one of Canada’s largest granting foundations. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities.
