New Stage Workshop 3: Text Analysis & Character Development
Fly by Night Productions’ Jennifer Hale and Anthony Wallace (stars of LCP’s 2017 production of Twelfth Night) take you on a journey through Text Analysis and Character Development, focusing on developing your character with evidence that is supplied in the text itself. What does your script tell you? How can you search for and find clues in the text to make decisions about your character? What does it mean when an author uses a period instead of an exclamation point? How can different parts of speech inform your character choices?
All of this and more is covered in this workshop where you’ll work on selections from scripts, focusing on character work and development, and take home tools to do the same with all of your future roles.
The New Stage Program and Workshop Series is made possible by a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
An agency of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is one of Canada’s largest granting foundations. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities.
