Shakuntala
Shakuntala- A Dance Drama has been conceived, composed and choreographed by Artistic Directors Hemant and Vaishali Panwar.
It is an innovative production involving love, romance, fate, traditions, emotions, myths and martial arts skills. The story has been composed into a beautiful, mesmerizing and vibrant Dance Drama with English narrations, real looking sets, outstanding cast and elegant costumes to describe the social context of ancient India. The significance of the story also lies in the fact how India came to be known as Bharat, a name which is still official in Indian languages.
Shakuntala Dance Drama is a vibrant mainstream production and is now concluding its provincial tour with the support of the Ontario Arts Council. Adorned with energetic dances, soul touching music and par excellence theatrical performances, the drama weaved in a story that left audiences spellbound and received standing ovation in all four cities- Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Kitchener, and Hamilton.
Panwar Music and Dance Productions will be performing Shakuntala to charm their sophisticated audience in London on April 25 at one of the oldest heritage community buildings in the city- The Palace Theatre.
